Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a common condition where endometrial cells (which normally line the inside of the uterus) grow outside of the uterine cavity, usually in the abdominal cavity. This can cause irregular menstrual bleeding (including spotting between cycles), stomach problems, depression, and lethargy. Studies have shown that about 40% of women with endometriosis also experience difficulty getting pregnant.

It’s important to note that symptoms do not always present themselves or have an impact on the patient’s life.

Endometriosis can be treated with either hormonal or surgical treatment, but please keep in mind that there is no cure for endometriosis.

Cervical Screening Test

A cervical screening test (CST) is a simple test to check for any changes in your cervix. These changes may lead to cervical cancer if left untreated, which is why it is recommended that all women between the ages of 25 and 74 receive a CST every five years, regardless of whether they are sexually active or not.

If you receive an abnormal CST result, there is no need to be worried. A more accurate diagnosis will quickly determine if further treatment is necessary, such as a colposcopy and biopsy or LLETZ procedure.
